How our process works, from measure to install

We start with a consultation at our Newmarket showroom or at your home, take exact on-site measurements, give you a written quote, then build and install. Every opening is measured in person, priced in writing, and carries a 5-year warranty in writing before we ever cut a piece of aluminum.

How our process works, from measure to install

Our process has five stages: consultation, measure, written quote, build, and install, followed by a check-in after. We design, measure, sell, install and service retractable screens, retractable awnings, louvered pergolas and retractable screen doors, all in aluminum, made in Canada. Nothing here is estimated from a photo or a floor plan – every opening gets a person with a tape measure before we quote it.

The consultation happens either at our showroom at 1151 Gorham St, Unit 8, Newmarket, Ontario, or at your home if that is easier. You bring the opening sizes you think you have, we bring samples, fabric and screen options, and motor choices to look at and touch. From there we book the on-site measure, where we take the real dimensions, check what the mounting surface is made of, look at wiring access for anything motorized, and flag anything that could complicate install, like a soffit in the way or an uneven header.

That measure becomes a written quote with the exact opening sizes, the product and options you chose, and the price. Nothing moves to production until you approve it. Once approved, the order goes into build, and because the product is made in Canada rather than pulled off a shelf, there is a lead time before it ships to our install team. Install day itself is the shortest part of the whole process – the pieces that take the real time are the measuring and the build.

What it solves

Reduces UV exposure and glare benefit icon

You get a price before anything is cut

The quote you approve is based on the actual on-site measurement, not a phone estimate. If the opening in the quote matches what gets installed, the price does not move. If something changes on your end before install, we requote before we proceed.

You are not guessing at your own opening size

Homeowners often have a rough number for a patio or porch opening that is off by an inch or two, enough to matter for a track-mounted screen or awning. The on-site measure removes that guesswork and the quote reflects the real number.

You know what the warranty covers before you sign

Every install carries a 5-year warranty in writing, handed over at the same time as the invoice, not promised verbally and found later in fine print. You can read it before you commit.

You can plan around install day

Because the build happens after you approve the quote, we can tell you roughly what the install day will involve – access needed, whether power has to be run, and what prep, if any, is on you – before the crew shows up.

Parts and service don't end at install

If a part on your system needs replacing years later, we can usually source it, even for products we did not originally sell. Lead time depends on where that part has to come from, and we tell you that up front rather than guessing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, or someone who can open up the area and answer questions about mounting surfaces, electrical, and anything we would need to work around. The measure is also when we talk through motorized versus manual options for your specific opening.

We put the written quote together using the exact dimensions and options discussed at the measure. It reflects the real opening size, not an estimate, which is why we do not quote off a phone call alone.

Because every product is made in Canada to the openings we measured rather than pulled from stock, there is a build and lead time between your approved quote and install day. We will give you the current estimate for your product when you approve the order.

We service what we sell and can usually source parts for other shading products as well, including ones we did not originally sell. Where the part has to come from outside our own stock, you are waiting on that source's own lead time, and we tell you that before you commit to the repair.

We walk you through operation before we leave, and if a screen, awning or pergola needs an adjustment in the first while after install, that is covered under the 5-year warranty in writing. Beyond that, we handle service calls on anything we installed.

We ship product across North America, including the USA, but our install and service crews only cover Ontario. Outside that area, you would be arranging local installation yourself using the product we ship.

Where we install this

Ontario openings are rarely square after a few seasons of frost heave and settling, which is one reason we measure on site instead of quoting from numbers you supply over the phone. A header that looks level can be out enough to bind a track-mounted screen, and a stucco or brick mounting surface changes how an awning arm gets fastened. Aluminum handles our freeze-thaw cycles and salt-and-sand winters without the corrosion issues other metals pick up, which is part of why every product line here is built in it.
